Martian Landing

Today we watched the Phoenix Mars Lander land on Mars. Unbelievable. Actually, we just watched all the scientists at their computers watching the screens and listening in. 5 years ago, this landing failed, so there was a lot riding on it. Super science cool.

When the announcer announced that the Phoenix had landed safely, the Mission Control guys all whooped and hollered, hugged and laughed, and then we did too. Here in Oakland, at Chabot Space and Science Center.
